Job Description

What You Can Expect

The Business Control Analyst II will support a broad range of business controlling and operational activities across ENGIE North America’s utility-scale wind, solar, and storage portfolio within the Renewables Flex Power business unit. This role contributes to key processes across project development, construction, and asset operations, while ensuring financial and business operational data is accurately captured and communicated.

In this role, you will support and help maintain budget control processes, assist with accounting reviews and issue resolution, contribute to SAP and Coupa project management controls, and participate in routine OpEx and CapEx reporting and analysis. You will work with corporate functions including Accounting, AP, Treasury, IT, FP&A, Procurement, and AIFA to support effective business processes and help resolve operational issues.

You will also work closely with cross‑functional teams in Project Development, Project Delivery, and Operations/Asset Management, providing analytical and operational support to managers, directors, and vice presidents across these groups. This role offers exposure to complex renewable energy projects and opportunities to further develop technical, analytical, and business partnering skills within a collaborative environment.

What You Will Do

  • Support the setup and maintenance of SAP WBS structures and project templates, ensuring accurate and timely data flow to budget owners and project teams across development, construction, and operating assets
  • Assist with analyzing and reporting project‑level and portfolio‑level CapEx and OpEx, ensuring data quality and accuracy, identifying cost misallocations, and coordinating with Accounting, AP, Procurement, and Treasury to help resolve discrepancies
  • Support budget maintenance activities in alignment with established investment and budgeting decisions, and assist in the development of cash‑flow forecasts to support effective budget and cash‑management planning
  • Partner with Project Development, Construction Managers, Project Controllers, and budget owners to support cost transitions, commitments tracking, Safe Harbor cost assignments, and ongoing budgeting, scheduling, and quality‑control activities
  • Help build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reporting tools that integrate project and asset data to provide clear, data‑driven financial insights for stakeholders
  • Contribute input and feedback for enhancements to SAP and other enterprise systems, and assist with training, onboarding, and the rollout of new tools, systems, and processes
  • Support documentation and continuous improvement of budgeting, cost‑management, and project‑control processes, including developing guidance and training materials related to cost treatment and coding practices

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Economics, Accounting/Finance or a related field with foundational exposure to financial reporting, data analysis, project management, and business process improvement
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar analytical, operational, business control, or finance support role
  • Experience working with enterprise systems—preferably SAP and Coupa—with the ability to extract, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and tools (SAP, SAC, Coupa, Ariba, Procore, Smartsheet)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Power BI and advanced Excel functions (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical curiosity, and the ability to identify and investigate data anomalies, risks, or project‑related issues
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders, manage competing deadlines, operate independently within established processes, with moderate oversight, and support ENGIE’s mission in a matrixed environment

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy; this role is NOT eligible for remote work
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
