Job Description

Summary

The Facilities and Maintenance team member is a versatile and essential role responsible for the upkeep and repair of our manufacturing plant's buildings, grounds, and support systems. This position requires a individual with diverse skills in construction, maintenance, and general facilities care, ensuring a safe, operational, and compliant environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Building and Grounds Maintenance:

  • Execute preventative maintenance on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Repair and maintain a variety of facilities components and structures, such as flooring, drywall, plaster, painting, door hardware, and related fixtures.
  • Construct and maintain indoor/outdoor facilities, fans, lights, and related components.
  • Manage snow and ice removal during adverse weather conditions or closures.

System Operation and Repair:

  • Perform quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Repair building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems.
  • Size, lay out, and install waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems.
  • Weld or fabricate plates, brackets, or needed devices for repairs and installations.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely and report any observed maintenance needs.
  • Maintain a broad working knowledge of materials, systems, and code requirements related to facility maintenance.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adheres to and follows Food Safety, Food Quality and SQF program requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and any other applicable standards.
  • Follow s all program guidelines for Halal and Kosher certifications.
  • Follows plant GMP’s.

Education/Experience :

  • Three plus (3+) years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven general knowledge of building construction, outside equipment, and groundskeeping.
  • Demonstrated construction skills, including carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills are required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is required
